I was thrilled to notice on Twitter the other day that a couple of authors were looking for some music for their latest book trailer, and they found just what they were looking for among our Freebie samples and loops. I realized that even regular visitors to our site may not realize that they are there, so I want to tell you about it.
But first, back to Twitter. Authors Daniel Ward and Terre Britton have a four-book Drama/Sci-Fi series called The Four Orders which they publicize on their website and YouTube channel. The story is based on a set of equations discovered by James Clerk Maxwell. I did a fair amount of physics at university years ago, so I know that these equations form the basis of our understanding of electricity, and also played a part in paving the way for Einstein to discover relativity. I haven't read the books, but they sound interesting.
Well, back to the tweets. Here is the first one, posted on November 1st:
#Authors... need music for your book trailer? Check out #Freebies #Loops @audiotuts http://bit.ly/cms77r
The second tweet was posted around half an hour later:
@audiotuts Thank you for the #Freebies!
I'm grateful for such a big and public "Thank you". Daniel and Terre discovered our Freebies and found them useful. Maybe you will too.
Would You Like to Submit a Freebie
But firstly, I know I'm mainly talking to musos here. Have you considered submitting a Freebie?
From the Submit a Freebie page:
Submitting a loop, sample or something else to the freebie section is a great way to get exposure and traffic while showing off your work to the world. We’ll include a big author link and bio on your item and it’ll be seen by thousands of Audiotuts+ devotees!
We also accept high quality non-exclusive content, which we don’t pay for, but that will allow you to promote your work on the site. Feel free to send in either type for review.
If you have some useful samples or loops that you know others can use, make some friends! Let us give them away for you - and give you some exposure by linking to your site in the freebie post. And it doesn't have to be just samples and loops. We also accept software instruments, VSTs, plug-ins, channel strip settings, and other audio-related files.
Find out more about submitting a freebie here.
