Description of the track:
A couple years ago I began writing songs that told stories that were not just a simple story, but more of a parable, kind of like Jesus did. This song was one of the songs that ended up being on an album titled Parables. This song was my desire to write a real love story.

Lyrics:
Scarlett is the name that a father gave
To a girl in a town where I used to stay
As a child she danced for the joy of it
Then later she danced just to pay the rent
Her father took off at an early age
Her mother took a needle to ease the pain
So at eighteen years Scarlett ran away
Into the arms of a man twice her age
Oh Scarlett this world is heartless
It'll steal the hope before your eyes
Oh Scarlett that cloud of darkness
Has a silver line upon the other side
He bought her gifts of every kind
Any little thing that her heart desired
But when she came up late she came to find
He had a wife and child all that time
Oh Scarlett this world is heartless
It'll steal the hope before your eyes
Oh Scarlett that cloud of darkness
Has a silver line upon the other side
Scarlett is the name that a father gave
To a woman I wed on a summer's day
I got a baby boy and a family
She got a silver line after years of rain
