In this series we'll look at several aspects of creating a 6-7 song EP. We'll cover tracking acoustic guitars, electric guitar, bass, and vocals with modest equipment, and then fill out the rest of the tracks with virtual instruments. I'll work with a drummer to program drums, and then with different band members to fill out the rest of the instrumentation and vocals.
In this first video we'll talk about the scope of the project and how that relates to your investment in time and effort. We'll also check out some ideas on how you can get more locked-in by using scratch tracks, and we'll talk a little about tracking acoustic guitars.
